The first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Infosys Ltd and St Joseph Engineering was signed in October 2007. The purpose of the MOU was to enrich the technical education process and jointly work for enhancing the quality of education imparted to students of all disciplines in the field of Information Technology (IT). This MOU was further renewed in 2010 and 2013. From then till now, Campus connect has been actively promoted and participated in by students and faculty.

The objective of the FEP is to share industry experience and learning methodology with the members of faculty and enable them to roll out Foundation Program 4.0 with greater effectiveness and rigor. It also offers a networking platform to the partner colleges leading to a mutual learning experience.
A Faculty Enablement Programme was organized by Infosys Ltd specializing the three Focus Areas was organized at their Development Centre in Mangalore. The programme was conducted in December, 2015. Mr Sathyendra Bhat and Ms Evita Coelho took part in this programme.
The following faculty members have taken part in the Mobile Application Development using Android and PhoneGap workshop from 7th September to 11th September 2015 at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte.
The Department of Computer Science &Engineering in association with Infosys Campus Connect organized Deep Dive Peer Enablement Program (PEP) on Focus Area-2 (RDBMS) of Foundation Program 4.0 for the faculty of CSE, ISE and MCA departments of SJEC from 15 th July 2015 to17 th July 2015. The resource persons for the PEP were Mr Sathyendra Bhat J, Assistant Professor-MCA and Mr Prashanth Kumar A, Assistant Professor-CSE.
The Peer Enablement Program on Foundation Program 4.0 was organized in our institution from 21 st January to 23 rd January 2016 for duration of 3 days on all three focus areas. The sessions were jointly handled by Ms Evita Coelho and Mr Sathyendra Bhat. The intention of the programme was to enable the faculty of CSE, ISE and MCA departments for Foundation Programme 4.0.
The Campus Connect Programme provides an opportunity for faculty members of partnering colleges to take part in workshops relevant to current trends in the IT industry. The faculty members are given a rich hands-on experience and technical understanding on currently trending areas of development by expert and competent IT Professionals.
In a constant endeavor to align engineering education with the industry, the Campus Connect Programme also provides opportunities for students of partnering colleges to take part in webinars and online workshops conducted by Infosys, which help to virtually bring together Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and students and allow them to share knowledge and discuss effectively.
A webinar series on Oracle Database fundamentals was organized at SJEC campus 19 th August and 4 th September, 2015 for all 5 th semester CSE and MCA students. A total of 150 students participated in the webinar series.
Before initiating a Foundation Programme batch, a Roadshow is conducted for the participating students which guide them through the process of FP 4.0. The session provides a platform for students to interact with IT Professionals at Infosys, understand the objective of FP 4.0 and the role it plays in making students ready for industry.
One virtual Roadshow was organized at SJEC in 2015 and two virtual Roadshow have been conducted at SJEC on 10 th and 11 th March 2016 for all pre-final year students.
The nucleus of the Campus Connect programme is the Foundation Programme (FP 4.0). The objective of FP 4.0 is to provide a unique set of teaching aids, consolidated training material to the college faculty to help them make students “industry ready”. The FP programme mainly focuses on practical aspects rather than theoretical concepts. It acquaints students with the best practices followed in the IT industry.
Highlights of this program
The students of the pre-final year CSE, ISE and MCA are trained rigorously under FP 4.0 by competent faculty who has been enabled for FP 4.0 by Faculty Enablement Programme. For the year 2015, two batches of students (a total of 122) have been successfully rolled out from Foundation Programme FP 4.0. For the year 2016, three batches of students (CSE & MCA) are currently undergoing the Foundation Programme FP 4.0.
Infosys Ltd has been able to reach out to many deserving students from academic institutions and hone their talent, offering them new opportunities with us. In an endeavor to interact and continually add value to academia, the Principals’ Meet' is organized annually at the Infosys Bangalore Development Centre. This enables all partner institutions to participate and provide valuable inputs in order to strengthen the Industry - Academia Relationship.

Campus Connect Programme provides a platform for faculty members of partnering college to make contributions to Campus Connect programs and events through Inspire. The faculty members are recognized and rewarded credit points for outstanding contributions made. Inspire will also provide an opportunity for the Campus Connect faculty community to avail offerings given by Infosys aligned with the level of partnership.
