ADMISSION THROUGH NRI / MANAGEMENT QUOTA FOR B. E. & P.G. COURSES -
2013-14
 
Applications are invited for the following B. E. & P. G. courses offered by St. Joseph Engineering College Mangalore, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
 
B.E. Courses:
  1. Electronics & Communication Engineering   
  2. Computer Science & Engineering
  3. Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  4. Mechanical Engineering
  5. Information Science & Engineering
  6. Civil Engineering
Eligibility:
The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or XII standard or equivalent examinations held preceding the date of entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and shall have secured not less than Forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects, with English as one of the languages, for admission to Engineering & Technology Courses.

Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be Forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the **Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology Courses.

**Note: The relaxation in academic eligibility is extended only to Karnataka candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes.

Candidates seeking admission for B.E. under NRI Quota may directly apply to:

Preference will be given to students who score 60% and above both in SSLC and PUC.
 
P.G. Courses:
  1. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  2. Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
Eligibility:
MBA: Candidate who has passed a Bachelor Degree in any discipline with 50% marks and who has appeared for KMAT or PGCET are eligible to take admission for MBA at St Joseph Engineering College. Management seats are allotted on the basis of merit decided during group discussion and personal interview.
M.C.A: Candidates shall have passed a Bachelor Degree of minimum three years duration, with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate of all years.  The candidate must have studied Mathematics OR Business Mathematics OR Statistics OR Business Statistics OR Mathematics & Statistics OR Computer Programming OR Computer Science OR Computer Applications either at degree level or at 10+2 level securing a minimum 50% of marks. Only candidates who have appeared for KMAT or PGCET are eligible to take admission at St Joseph Engineering College.
 
Application Procedure for MBA / MCA:
Application forms are available at the College Office on payment of Application Fee of Rs. 500/- in cash. Completed applications must be submitted to the College Office along with proof of PGCET-2012 or KMAT-2012 score and attested copies of the degree marks cards.  Applications forms may also be downloaded from the College website www.sjec.ac.in. In such cases, the Application Fee may be paid at the time of submitting the application through a DD for Rs. 500/- favouring ‘St. Joseph Engineering College’, payable at Mangalore.
 
Preference will be given to students who have scored 60% and above in SSLC, PUC and Bachelor Degree.
