Information is one of the most important ingredients of our academic activities. Information leads to the generation of knowledge. An academic institution always takes necessary steps to gather or procure relevant bits of knowledge from various sources. Needless to say it is the library and information centre of the institution that is entrusted with the task of procuring, organizing and displaying the various sources of knowledge in different media and also disseminating them to the users. Library is considered to be a “Delivery Room for the Birth of Ideas”. Without a good library, no education system is complete and perfect.

About the Central Library:

Welcome to the Central Library which is one of the central support services of SJEC. The vision of the Central Library is to become a superb centre of stored knowledge resource for education, teaching and research. The central library with its beautiful ambience serves more than 2200 users and occupies a total area of 18000 sq.ft. with seating capacity of nearly 415 users at a time.

The Central Library has kept pace with emerging challenges over a decade of its existence and has emerged as one of the best technical libraries in the region. The Central Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, e-books, journals (print/online), audio video cassettes, CD/DVD ROMS, standards, theses and reports etc.

These information resources promote and advance teaching and learning and also facilitate improved productivity and qualitative research. The library homepage will provide access to various electronic resources such as e-journal databases, EPAC, e-question papers, faculty publications etc.

Links from the home page will also direct you to information on library hours, rules, collections, services, sections and the location of materials. It has also established Institutional Library Membership with DELNET and NITK.
