Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry exists from the day of the inception of the College in 2002. The Chemistry Department pledges itself in the broadest and most liberal manner to encourage the advancement of all branches of engineering through its practically skilled education and service missions.

VISION: Proficiency in cutting - edge areas of research and teaching.

MISSION: To probe and provide for theoretical knowledge and laboratory skills in technical education in chosen specializations and support the professional and scholarly growth of students and faculty.

Objectives:

Students To bring a deeper conceptual understanding of Chemical processes in engineering and technology. To become skilled in laboratory techniques of precise measurements, accurate observations, safety requirements and chemical disposal.
Faculty To adopt moderntrends in Education Technology To acquire sophisticated instruments in tune with the needs To promote research activities To strengthen departmental library facilities

Teaching Staff:

The Faculty members of our department are dedicated to quality teaching and excellence in research activity. The Faculty has functions as into a dynamic learning environment that accents student-centered learning, flexibility, interdisciplinary thinking and research.

Facilities:

The well equipped, spacious lab provides safe and comfortable working environment for 30 students at a time with seating arrangement during instructions and demonstrations. There is a good stock of chemicals, which is being replenished from time to time. The Department has a Research Centre approved by VTU for conducting programmes leading to the award of Ph.D. degree.
